公共英语四级，简称PETS-4。是教育部考试中心设计并负责的全国性英语水平考试体系。作为中、英两国政府的教育交流合作项目，在设计过程中它得到了英国专家的技术支持。通过公共英语四级考试，考生的英语水平是中上级。
大学英语四级考，简称CET-4，是由国家教育部高等教育司主持的全国性教学考试。考试的主要对象是根据教育大纲修完大学英语四级的在校大学本科生或研究生。
区别一：考试对象
公共英语四级考试不受理义务教育阶段的学生报考。
大学英语四级考试的主要对象是根据教育大纲修完大学英语四级的在校大学本科生或研究生。
区别二：分数不同
公共英语四级有口试分数和笔试分数两种，口试满分5分，3分以上(含3分)为合格。笔试满分100分，60分以上(含60分)为合格。大学英语四级总分为710分，没有设置合格线，四级考分达到425分以上可以报考六级。
区别三：考试题型及难度
外教一对一
公共英语四级考试分为笔试和口试两部分，其中笔试包括：听力、语言知识、阅读和写作。笔试和口试均合格者，由教育部考试中心颁发给《全国英语等级考试合格证书》。
大学英语四级考试分为笔试和口试两部分，其中笔试包括写作、听力、阅读、翻译，口试则是自主选择，笔试550分以上可以选择报名参加口试。
公共英语四级相当于大学英语六级，大学英语四级相当于公共英语三级。

First of all, listen and respond thoughtfully to others. You should spend more time listening to others instead of boasting yourself. If you spend too much time talking about your own stuff, the people around you may think you are an annoying person. So, the best way to do is to consider our friends’ thoughts and feelings. Try to be a good listener, when you express yourself, thinks about it carefully before you really say it.
Second, appropriately adapt messages to others. But it does not mean to say something that the listener wants to hear. That would be unethical.
Last but not least, try to interpret nonverbal messages. As we all know, unspoken messages can express powerful ideas or emotions with greater impact than mere words. You should try to observe others facial expressions or movements and give correct responds to others. You can see the emotions or attitude from one’s gesture stops. Be sensitive and appropriate interpreting others.

Population officials and demographers have much to worry about China’s increasingly aging population. It is estimated that the proportion of people aged 60 or older in China will rise to 11.8 percent in 2020.
